Dinner at Emily Maynard's Bachelorette Mansion!

Last Friday I went to South Charlotte on business to attend a dinner with Pat McCrory. The dinner was put on by a group of hotel owners and since we represent NC's hotels, myself and the other lawyer I work with were invited to attend. What we DIDN'T know was that the house where the event was taking place, which belongs to a Charlotte hotel owner and his wife, was where the most recent season of the Bachelorette was filmed. I knew it looked familiar!

Since hubby and I are building a house, it seemed fitting to do a post about about this masterpiece of an abode. The mansion sits on about 5 acres, as do all of the homes on this gated street. It's about 12,000 square feet of amazingness, not counting the HUGE amount of outdoor entertaining space (the house has a very large courtyard with fountain, which is where most of the outdoor scenes were shot, and a separate patio on a different side of the house for the pool). The current owners are of Indian descent and had their decorator travel with them to India for two weeks to help them pick out all of the beautifully ornate furnishings. I was surprised to hear that ABC removed all of their furniture for the shoot and replaced it with their own stuff, since I couldn't imagine better decor than what the owners already had. The house has a really long governor's driveway (which I'm sure facilitated the comings and goings of limos that probably don't u-turn too well) with a massive portico. The foyer is gigantic, with a spiral staircase to the left and a domed ceiling above. Behind the foyer is a really long hallway with arched ceilings covered in shiny tile. To the left of the foyer is the great room, which has 20 foot + ceilings and could comfortably hold over 100 people. At the end of the hall is the family room, kitchen and dining room. I think all of the bedrooms are upstairs, as is a huge entertaining room with a pool table. It's phenomenal!

Here are some pictures I took of Emily's former pad:

If you're interested in checking out the real estate listing for this beauty (yes, it's currently on the market!), here it is. If you've got a spare $4.9 million laying around, I can't think of a better way to spend it than on Emily's Bachelorette pad!
